I agree with the breeder, don't let your groomer do the "eye shave" thing, trust me...once it is shaved down it takes forever to grow out and they have to go through the hair in the eyes phase again. Instead purchase some "pet silk" it's like pomade and you can keep the hair down out of his eyes, and it helps slick hair up in the topknot when it is long enough for a topknot. Just my suggestion. Also, never give your groomer free rein on you pups hair, they'll likely do the easiest thing (puppy cut) and they'll use their own creative freedom. There have been a lot of posts of people that weren't specific enough with their groomers and the end result was less then beautiful.
