Callie's puppy hair was crazy at matting but when she got her first grooming and they shaved it all off and her hair grew back it did not mat as bad and to this day even though I keep her in a puppy cut there are never any mats. As for the weight sometimes you can predict it and sometimes you can't she maybe a bigger yorkie just more to love
