I really am loving Fromm right now, so far. I really like them as a company too. Hoping their food continues to work well for my dog (we just started feeding it).
It's not so much about protein %, but it's important where most of the protein is coming from (i.e. meat sources vs. plant sources).
IMO, there is no set protein percentage that a dog has to have... it all depends on the individual dog and what works for them. There could be two foods, both with 28% protein, but the dog could do horribly on one and not the other. It's more about the ingredients agreeing with them, etc.
I do know that the original "high protein is bad" myth came from a study performed on rats, who are omnivores... and all the protein came from plant sources... so IMO, it makes the argument completely invalid.
With that said, I don't think loading a dog up on super high protein kibble is necessarily good either. |
