Glad I posted on this thread. Rachel's post is beautifully honest. I enjoyed it, thanks.
I agree with those who have posted. The final rose showed a couple in love. Maybe it'll work. The odds are long, but Trista and Ryan did it. I suspected she was gonna go against her sister's advice. She went against the advice to stay away from Bentley. She's a rebel in that way.
I hate the premise of the show. If it was just a dating show, I'd be cool with it. But the idea is to end in a marriage proposal. You can't rush marriage. Ben was humiliated because he was trying to do what the show told him to do.
What bothers me the most is the show belittles marriage. It's a farce. How can you not know who your spouse is going to be a week before the proposal? My wife and I dated for a year and a half before we decided to get married. We had lots of ups and downs in that time, but we KNEW each other. We saw each other at our best and our worst before we decided to spend the rest of our lives together.
The show doesn't care if the engagement will last. It's all about ratings.
Ahh, but I'm a sucker for love stories. If my wife watches next season, I won't leave the room.
