I'm not hesitant to go to a specialist. It's more a matter of I am confident/comfortable with our current vet, who is not a specialist, but he has had more training in eyes than most vets and he is a surgeon and worked trauma in the city for many years (he didn't tell me this, I read his bio).

I went to this last appointment determined to request a consult, but seeing the thoroughness of the exam and talking to the doctor, I decided to wait. Labs are good, so no underlying health issue. Eye structure is good, no scarring. Tear production is good, pressure is good.

If Max's eyelid is not perfect at the end of the 8 days, I will take him to the specialist and have them do the sedation and examination.
