No one has said to just pick a name off the list and buy! They have just said that this is a good place to start AND it has also been said that there are good and bad breeders everywhere. Starting with the YTCA website AND regional clubs just happens to be the best starting place to find reputable breeders. There are FAR MORE reputable breeders than there are the few bad apples. These members (of both YTCA and regional clubs) will also recommend breeders that are reputable and do breed to standard whether they are YTCA or not as well as try to steer someone away from purchasing their new family member from unethical breeders and lord knows, there are so many of those out there ready to pounce.
