I've taken several days off work, so I've been with her almost 24/7 since Friday morning when I brought her home. I do go back to work tomorrow, but I'm lucky to have a job that's close to my apartment, so I can come home at lunch to check on her, etc. I also work from home one day a week and have every other Friday off. She will have to spend some time alone, but I'll be here as much as I can, especially in the early stages. I've heard conflicting reports about when pups can leave their mom, but I trusted my breeder when she said any time after 8 weeks is good. She's been doing it for 20+ years, and all of her pups are well adjusted. Dolce seems to be doing well with me so far! |
