For some reason I'm getting delays on replies to threads, but not PM's? It's weird...
Okay I don't think the daycare has cameras because it is new, however its run by someone who is a dog trainer. As far as I know I do not think they separate the dogs based on size, but instead I think they are separated by temperament. Apparently, after the application and proof of vaccinations has been submitted you schedule a date where you bring in your pup and his "first day" of daycare is free. They use this day to evaluate the dog's temperament and then they place him on one of three different programs. Each program teaches basic manners (sit, drop, intro to leash walking etc) so the neat thing I think about this daycare is that there are trainers on staff that teach your dog, as well as providing free play time with other dogs, etc. I'm not sure if this is common with all daycares since I've never been to one (Teddy is my first pup). While Teddy and I are attending puppy classes, I realized he hasn't been socialized enough (he is EXTREMELY excited in puppy class, does not pay attention to treats etc) which is my fault...and so I thought daycare would be a great way for him to meet and socialize with other dogs and people, lowering his arousal levels in puppy classes...I'm not away from home more than 5 hours a day usually 3 times a week, however Teddy is extremely high energy and he appears to be very social (he wants to go up to EVERY SINGLE PERSON when we go on walks) and I think that daycare would be wonderful for him...and plus it would give me a couple of extra hours of quiet time so I can read for school while he's at daycare!! |
