Years ago we gave the lepto vaccine to our dogs and we had no problems with reactions. About 5 years ago, we stopped giving it because it just did not seem justified given our dogs' level of risk and also because the vaccines only covered some of the strains of bacteria found in our area. We never had problems with reactions to vaccines but many have and lepto is one that many dogs react to.
