The swelling should go down in a day or two. What kind of stitches did the vet use? The self-dissolving kind that does not need removing, I hope. That's the kind my baby had. In fact, I don't see stitches at all. He was jumping up and down when I picked him up and absolutely his normal hyper self the entire week during recovery. I think that's because my vet uses gas to sedate so it is easier to come out of it. My friend's puppy was neutered the same time as mine with a different vet who uses staples. He had lots and lots of complications (bleeding, oozing liquid, swollen, pain, the works). If your Denali is only slightly swollen, he should be fine. But if it doesn't go away in a few days, check with you vet again.
