As for looks, temperament etc... There is no standard look or anything for them. Because you are mixing breeds, you can get one that looks more like either parent or anything in between.
Maltese and Yorkies each have their own set of health concerns to be worried about. You'll need to familiarize yourself with all of it to ask the right questions.
Also, if anyone tries to sell you a morkie that they say has "papers", be aware that AKC doesn't recognize mixed breeds and CKC doesn't recognize morkies as a stand alone breed either. There are some mixed breed registries out there, but they are kind of questionable.

Wonderful advise. And they do come with their own set of health issues, one of the problems of obtaining a Morkie.
