Levi barks when he hears something that bothers him. Neighbor dogs outside barking, the garage door opening, doorbells/knocking (even on TV). I think he barks mostly because he is trying to be protective, even though he LOVES everyone (friend or stranger) once they walk inside.
He growls almost nonstop when he is playing with toys, and sometimes when he is playing with bigger dogs. He will on occasion bark while playing, and that is more frustrating to me than his regular "protective" barking...though I think the doorbell sound effect in commercials should be illegal!!
