She finally got into the vet today and it turns out that she suffers from patellar luxation. Grade 4. I couldn't believe it as I had researched it before going and when I was looking at leg problems in Yorkies. Grade 4? Yeppers, but she hasn't had noticeable leg problems before unless its been strained from a big jump or after fighting the groomer when getting her nails cut! Even now she doesn't seem to be in pain, but the vet says stage 4 because of the amount of movement in the joint when manipulated. Does this seem normal? What I've read says there should be pain...Regardless, surgery was brought up as a real potential for her if she doesn't seem to get better in the next month or so. I want to know about people's experiences with this problem AND how much the surgery costs would be for in Canada? (Im in Saskatchewan and was told it would probably have to be performed in Saskatoon at the University). I just wanted to see if I could get some feedback on this issue.

PS
I just had her in for surgery 2 weeks ago for an soft palate resection because she had an elongated soft palate that caused her breathing problems that had gotten worse over the last year. She's had a rough month and now she's restricted to the kennel with miniml movement to let her leg heal as best as possible
