I have used the Raid ant baits around my animals for years now. (I have 3 cats & a Yorkie.) I have always considered them safe because the poison is inside of the little house compartment where it can't be reached. Of course, just to be safe, I place them where they will not be played with or really even touched by the animals at all.....on windowsills, etc. The bad news is that I have found them to be only mildly successful in controlling the ants! Perhaps some of the other remedies suggested will work out better for you?
