I hope that your vet is able to figure out what is going on with Lucy. You sound like you are such a good momma to her and only want the very best for her care. Please keep us updated after she is seen. There might be something easily treatable with diet as Elle May suggested yesterday. It is very easy to make your mind run and assume the very worst.
