I would definitely keep him on the Rimadyl as prescribed. It is an anti-inflammatory.
I would also seek another opinion if this does not improve, but if the vet did not find anything, chances are it is just inflammed.
One of my pups recently had a problem with his LP. He ususally uses stairs to the bed and one night decided to "fly" off of the bed. I was horrified and rushed him to the EC because he was crying and unable to even straighten his leg. By the time I got him there, he was able to straighten it but was hesitant to walk on it. The EC vet examined him and determined it was probably just his LP and prescribed Metacam for five days. He did not feel an xray was needed. LP and a torn ligament can be palpated! The next morning I took him to my vet for another opinion and she felt the same way. Sure enough...he was walking without difficulty in five days and has not had an issue since. |
