New Puppy-Curious About Weight and More I recently got my puppy, Felicity. We call her Fi Fi for short. She is so cute. I'll post her pic soon. We paid $800 for her. It seemed kind of a lot to me. But after reading some of the other posts maybe it's mid range. The thing is she is exactly 11 weeks and is a little chubby at 3lbs 4oz. The breeder told me she would be around 5lbs and the vet told me 7lbs. If she's going to keep growing at this rate, I'm a little concerned. My grandma has a yorkie, Sergeant Clyde. He's 5 yrs old and she is already bigger than him. Am I going to end up with an oversized (more than 7 lbs) Yorkie. Is there a such thing as a Yorkie that big? - they're not breed standard and I was wondering if such bigger dogs could be Silky Terriers in diguise as yorkies? Fi Fi is a wild thing but even if she ends up the size of a Great Dane we'll still love her. Though, I am a little disappointed that she may end up so big. Could I be overfeeding her? I have looked online, asked the vet, the breeder and books about how much to feed her and no one gives me a straight answer. The vet says that he's just happy that she's and eater, but I don't want to overfeed her either. Any suggestions? |
