We may have to go back to kibble (Ellie isn't doing well on her current diet, but she doesn't do well on dog food either

) unless her nutritionist can figure it all out for us. It is really frustrating though. I feel terrible at the thought of making her eat this crap that we call dog food. IMO, great dog foods are pretty much nonexistent.
It would be nice to know if ethoxyquin is destroyed in the extrusion process, but the responses on this thread are from dog food manufacturers. There opinions are based on bias and so their reasoning about it is worthless (again imo). I think the only way to get a true answer about how much is destroyed and if it is required to be added to fish meal is to talk to an indepentent researcher, etc. The same goes for denaturant. One company says they would never use such a thing. The next company says it is required by law. So somebody may not be being very truthful.
I'm not sure how many ppm is allowed in human food, but anything beyond that would be very questionable to me. Well, actually any amount is questionable to me since it is labelled poison.
