Even if you do take them to a "pet friendly" hotel or motel, most places do not allow you to leave them alone in a room even to go out for supper.
Valid point they make is 1. dog may bark and disturb other guests and 2. they cannot be responsable for them if there is there is fire.
Also, what we have found in traveling with our dogs is that they try to stick you in "pets allowed" rooms which we found were most always smoking rooms and I cannot be around smoke..and don't want my dogs subjected to sitting in a stinky smokey smelling room, either.
Just another few things to think about.
I personally think my babies are far better behaved and quieter than most peoples children and it bugs me that we are penalized because they have fur.
