 Banned in Europe---
I have several lovely European import dogs with their full tails, which I feel enhance their beauty and expression. Even though the written standard in the US still calls for a docked tail, in actual practice it is left to the judge's discretion to accept or dismiss an undocked dog. It is my understanding that it is extremely rare to dismiss a dog for this, and I have seen Yorkies with full tails win at conformation shows. Depending on my mood I sometimes leave tails on. I have a puppy now that I may go ahead and show with his full tail. |
