Cascarones are a Southwest tradition too. They are basically confetti eggs and you break them over (not on) the head of someone you want to have good luck or happiness (or someone you really LIKE) . They are used at all sorts of events as party favors. They are messy and fun, so kids love them!

We're going to make ours with birdseed instead of confetti to be more eco-friendly.
