I think it is really good that you listen to your vet, but I would recommend doing a bit of research as well. My vet original prescribed Revolution which worked great and it is safe for dogs and cats - even puppies and kittens. My vet, who I did trust, just sold me a three pack of Vectra 3D but since Frankie had such a bad reaction, they are saying they will reevaluate whether they prescribe it anymore. That says to me that they did not do THEIR OWN research before giving my dog a treatment. I have found NUMEROUS examples of issues dogs (especially small ones) have had with Vectra 3D. I don't think it would have taken them long to figure that out if they had actually done it.

Either way, no one is saying you shouldn't trust you vet or you did the wrong thing by giving your kittens Advantage... it's just always a safe bet to look things up and ask before giving it to your pet.

Below is a good link that tells you the effects of pesticides (found in most flea/tick/mite medication). The site talks about toxicity to humans and the risks, but I think it can also give us at least a "head up" for our pets. Look up the drug you are thinking of using and find the active ingrediant (Flea Medication: Pyrethrins, Pyrethroids, Fipronil, & Other Flea Medications) then go check it out on this website:
