Honestly, I wouldn't go in to the search thinking of one or the other. Get the one with the best personality to fit your lifestyle and needs. I've heard of a ton of people going into look at puppies only wanting a female and come out with a male or wanting a male and coming out with a female. I just don't think gender makes much of a difference really. If my boys had been girls, then I would have loved them just the same because they are mine and they are perfect for me and my family.
