Congratulations Mike, I had similar thoughts with Joey, I had several rescues over the years, and many came with problems, I really wanted a puppy this time so that I could train him from the beginning, and protect him from any bad training. I was advised to take Joey to a dog park when he was around 8 months old, to get him use to other dogs, and I took the advise, but there was so much more I needed to know before I took them there, and he inadvertently got trampled, by all the other dogs. Have fun with this little girl, she's a beauty, and forgive yourself for all the mistakes, you'll make.
