If you left your dog and he or she cried and barked the entire time you were gone that wouldn't be healthy for the pet or easy for you. My little London (Yorkie) can fall asleep anywhere, it's kind of strange but at least I know she is comfortable and not anxious, which is unusual for a puppy mill momma.
Yorkies do have the characteristics of the breed but each has their own personality too. It's our jobs as their parents to understand them and help them with anything that might be wrong, just like human kids.
