Some dogs are allergic to corn and it can cause skin itchiness to those with a problem. Be sure and find a food with no corn if you are switching. Joey uses Royal Canin, it does contain corn though, and I've tried other foods, the last one caused extreme brown eye drainage, so we are back to RC. While many dogs do well on a certain food, there's always the exception. Another cause for skin itchiness, is not rinsing thoroughly, be sure to really rinse well after shampooing and always use a good conditioner as it conditions the skin as well as the hair. |
