My little guy is a bit heavier than yours, he weighs 3.5 to 4 lbs depending.. we just went through it all with him and he did just fine. As a matter of fact the vet told us that he might feel under the weather for a few days, but the minute we got him home he was his old self and rambuctious as ever.
