I am so sorry to hear about your baby. I got Dixie in Dec. 07 and she was 6 months old and seemed fine, she was from a great breeder who I had also gotten Pixie from but I noticed her pee was clear and had no odor so I took her to the vet and they did tests and found out she had congenital kidney failure. Her Bun was off the vets chart(600). I had her to a kidney specialist and he said that many dogs can live with 27% kidney function and thought she could be treated, unfortunately her kidney's never developed so treatment wouldn't help. It sound like you baby has kidneys and maybe some medicine will get him better. It does not sound hopeless, there is so much that can be done to help them with kidney disease. Also something else could be throwing the BUN off and with treatment he will be fine. Did you contact his breeder to see if she had any ideas? Keep us posted and I will keep him in my prayers. |
