The main thing is that you are giving less than 10% homecooked if you aren't supplementing. As long as you are under 10%, it should be fine. It really wouldn't be any different than somebody mixing chicken with their pup's kibble everyday. I don't know of anything in rice that would make it unsafe for long-term feeding.
