Sorry for your loss..Please seek out another vet if possible..I don't think the one you went to for emergency care responded quickly enough..IMO. I don't think they should have sent the puppy home with you as soon as they did. We always kept our patients for 24 hour observation and Iv. fluids..especially if the puppy has no appetite or vommiting..Also make sure you have all the necessities in case of an emergency..(karo syrup, nutri-cal, thermometer, syringe, and gerbers chicken or turkey puree..with no salt,onion garlic..)When there is vomitting or loose stools(without blood) this can also mean the digestive tract is inflammed,so it is not good to try too many different foods. I think things happen for reasons..and unfortunatly is takes heartbreak to open the doors to enlightenment..I know your next expericence will be a beautiful one..Peace.
