I don't know if people are fearful and intimidated by what's going on, or if they just think that these new laws won't affect them? What ever it is, we all need to get our heads out of the sand because these proposed laws are taking away our rights, and will eventually take away our ability to own or breed.
Some areas are proposing laws that will not allow you to purchase a dog outside of the state you live in. Some proposed bills want to give the AC the same legal authority as the police have (though they won't have the same training that the police departments require). Some proposed bills are trying to protect the AC from lawsuit if they push their way in your house and injure you or your property.
Then there's the mandatory spay neuter bills that are not only hitting certain counties but the entire state! This is all just the tip of the iceberg!
These bills are being PUSHED through quickly and quietly, many people are not even aware of them, and by the time they are aware, the bill has become a law and it's too late.
So if you hear of a proposed bill that you don't agree with, write your legislators, send letters by fax, email, snail mail and phone in your grievance;
do it multiple times ... your letter does not have to be perfect, it just has to be sent! |
