New to this board! Hi everybody! I'm really looking forward to getting to know you and your babies. We are major.....and I mean major.....dog lovers and we have fallen in love with Yorkies. I wish I'd known about them when I was younger and I could have had them all my life. We have seven small dogs and three of them are Yorkies. All three of our Yorkies (in fact all of our dogs) came from the shelter. In addition to the Yorkies we have a ShihTzu, PekePoo, Chihuahua/ShihTzu, and a ShihTzu/Pom (probably). They are all more than wonderful.
Gidget, the first one we got in 2001 is almost 8 years old. She's black and gold (we call her our little redhead). She weighs about 8 1/2 pounds. She's been in renal failure since last October. Needless to say, our hearts are broken over this. However, she hangs in there. She was on 24 hour i.v. for six days back then. We have fluids injected under her skin twice a week and she's on a special diet. The vets are amazed that she's such a little toughie and my DH and I are thankful for every day we have her.
FiFi is a beautiful silver blonde, about 7 years old and is too precious for words. Then the other day the shelter got in another little girl. She's about 5 or 6 pounds and named Phoebe. We have to change that because every time I call her FiFi looks up! We're going to give it a few more days and see if she "tells us" her new name. |
