 Food allergy question
Several months ago, I made the decision to feed my yorkies Chicken Soup for the Puppy Lover's Soul. After several weeks my oldest became very itchy and developed little bumps on his back and shoulders. Thinking it may be a food allergy, I switched them over to TOTW-Pacific Stream Formula. In just a week or two, the bumps went away and the itching stopped. We all love TOTW but I want to feed them on a rotation diet, so I tried adding the Chicken Soup back into their diet early last week. The bumps and itching are now back!
They all really like this food but apparently Alex has a sensitivity to one of the ingredients. Is he more likely allergic to one of the meat proteins or to a grain? The main grain is barley, and the meats are chicken, turkey and duck. If it's a meat, which one? I've tried to find a good quality food with no chicken/turkey/duck and no barley but there aren't many to choose from. I would appreciate any suggestions or advice! |
