If I were the breeder, and someone asked me for an older dog......I would be thrilled to find a retired mommy a wonderful home, after all, she deserves a forever home after her service to the breeder!! Maybe she is pushing the puppies because they are more expensive, and if they don't sell when they are young, she will have to drop the price. If you want an older dog, I think that is wonderful! Stick to what you want, and don't be pushed into anything!
