I got Duke neutered mainly because of all the above reasons but I also considered daycare/boarding for him and not many places would take an unalter pup.
Duke was neutered at 10months; I felt so bad after the surgery for him but he did just fine.
So if you're looking to have yours go to daycare during the day, that's another reason to get spay/neuter.
