Your pup prob. just has a bruise. I used to be a tech and always preferred to take blood from the jugular. The vein is much bigger and the blood pressure is better. You get the blood faster and it is not as painful as a leg (due to all the nerves on the legs). The next time you go in for blood work I would mention that your pup was bruised, maybe they have a better tech or you could ask that the vet take the blood.
