wow! I have to say I am surprized! Sunshine had to have a c-section with her last litter.. After x-rays, we were pretty sure she was going to need one.. but my vet told me "we do NOT schedule" c-sections until after we give the bitch an opportunity to attempt to free whelp. Of course Sunshine never got to the free whelp part with this litter because I KNEW she wasn't going to be able to free whelp this litter. The first litter, she just popped them out.. This litter, she panted for several hours and never once tried to push, so into the vet she went. As for the other part of the question. Sunshine had a section at 1pm and was spayed at the same time (although if I was faced with the same decision the spay would have been done at a later date) On any account, she was able to come home with the puppies at 4:30 pm the same day. |
