my first litter too I just had my first litter 9/10 2 boys 4 oz and 3 3/4 oz. I was a nervous reck. I also found this site very helpful too. i took temp about 2 weeks before whelping and had the same as yours does. The day before the drop she peeked a temp at 101.5 and then 3am on 9/9 it went down to about 99 and by 8am it was 98.5 and stayed all day. They say on this site 12-24 hours before whelping well Felicity went 26 hours. Whelped 30 before i was to take her into the vet. I called the vet at 8am when she started to push and pups were very high up yet . which i was so nervous that they would not come out because she was only 4.5 lbs pre preg. after 1 hour i called vet again. She told me to butt out and get out of the room, close the blinds and just check on her every 10 to 20 min that she needs to relax to get them out and not to worry that nature will take over and she will do EVERYTHING. I checked every 15 and then when i checked on her at 10:05 a pup was out and she was licking it in the sack and I was so scared and broke the sack with the aspirator bulb then suctioned the nose and mouth and screamed for my friend that was waiting with me that was down stairs. she comes running up, I was shaking and the pup was fine. She calmed me down and said "Just let her do it, she needs to bond" well let me tell you she was and is such a great mom and did everything on her on and cut the cord and ate the placenta and cleaned them. i was so glad to have my friend there to calm me down and when the 2nd came i was so much better and just did what i did for the first. But i do believe that by me leaving the room and just checking in and only interfering when needed made her push them out. I have no experience and learned a lot from this and would do it again. But not with the same stud(thats another really long story) if you want to read it .. it is posted under the Breeders Section under "IS This IT?"
I will be thinking of you keep us posted.
