Teeth Teeth Cleaning

We have 5 yorkies and 3 of them have had problems with their teeth that require regular teeth cleanings at the vet. It is very expensive and it is scary to have them put under to do it. I try to brush their teeth at least once a week and know I should do it more often. I use a small square of gauze with a little CET toothpaste I get from the vet when I do this. They like the poultry flavor but just tolerate me scrubbing the teeth with the gauze.
On the positive side I have had good luck using PetzLife. It comes in a spray or a gel. Mine don't like the spray. All you have to do is put a dab on their lips and they lick it and spread it around in the mouth. I do this every night on all of them. It may not completely eliminate the need for the vet dental cleaning but it does make the cleanings come less often and they lose less teeth.
My three year old has not had to have a dental at the vet yet and I have used this with her since she was a puppy. I think that is what made the difference with her. The three with the problems were older when I started the Petzlife. My three year old is not related and that also could be a factor. It is too early to tell if it is going to work as well on our 8 month old but looks very promising.
My vet recently recommended a product called Leba III. I bought a bottle and it only comes as a spray. I am only successful in getting the spray on our male. (one of the older ones). So far it hasn't removed existing tarter but it is working about the same as the PetzLife.
I would recommend you start with the PetzLife and see how it goes.
Hope this helps.
