There are always so many threads about what kind of coat might someones pup have, is it silky or cotton or modified etc... That it got me thinking and I don't know if anyone has the answer but someone out there must! So here goes..... What is dominant in a yorkie coat or is neither dominant? Like with people, brown eyes are dominant over blue eyes. So if someone like me and my husband who both have brown eyes, have a blue eyed child, it means that we both carry the recessive blue gene. Our child who has blue eyes, only got a blue gene from each of us and that will be all he can pass on to his children. Are you following me so far?....
So with the coat, is silky dominant or is cotton or do you get a combination of both? I hope that makes sense.... does anyone know enough about yorkie genetics to answer?
