More testing would be good but pricey and with those numbers it is most likely MVD if anything. It could still be a shunt or something altogether different though, so I can't just say not to keep testing.
A dog with bile acids of 48 needs liver support if it isn't coming down all the way in my opinion.
You could retest in a month if the vet is confident that she isn't in danger. |
Thank you for the suggestions!
I'm compiling a list of questions for the vet....seems like I have so many. Mayme is my first small dog...and inside dog at that. Most people tell me I'm just not use to them and shouldn't worry so much. However, I can't help it...
I am keeping her on the low protein food, but I definately want to ask about some supplements etc. I'll ask about the denosyl.....
I've been researching MVD and LS. From what I've gathered - MVD is treated with the diet/medicine, and life expectancy is fairly normal? Since ultrasounds are too effective - should I ask for the stintography next?
I plan on taking her back for another bile acid test next month to keep an eye on things...
