I live in the SF Bay Area, CA and have had Yorkies for 18 years and none of mine have been on heartworm preventatives and I travel with them and everything and have never had a problem. Heartworm medicine is a very toxic chemical if your dogs don't need it. Unless you have a vet who is ill informed, they would know what you need in your area and I would go by what they say. |
