Donna - I totally agree with you. I have also spent many times having to resist typing/responding to a post in this section. I get so upset and frustrated how many people are breeding. Yikes!! So many! Too many! And this is just a small portion of the yorkie world - here on YT. So if you have all these people here breeding - I know that this is just a small protion of the yorkie people breeding - my head spins to realize that the true numbers of people breeding yorkies must be so high - a number so high - it must be unthinkable to comprehend. No wonder out breed is # 2. Because of this what is going to happen to our breed?? I am really scared!
I think, most times I should not say anything to help - because then am I contributing to them producing more pups. But then - I also think about the dog it self. It is not her fault she was breed. Sometimes I think - maybe it is important to educate others and maybe they will learn. But lately - I have seen so many that will talk a good talk or in the end I know they will do what they want to do. So I am at the point why try.
If one breeds - they must educate themselves first - this takes years - to learn the standard, what is totally involved in breeding, watch litters being whelped, etc... And test your dogs before breeding - this includes having your dog checked to see if it measures up to the standard and worthy of being breed!
