I am sorry to hear that Holly has this condition. It is life-threatening, so follow your vet's advice carefully. She needs protein but low fat carbohydrates. It is the fat which causes the loose bloody stools. The fluid on her chest is one of the biggest problems too because they have difficulty breathing and walking. I know it is scary, but read to gain knowledge. The steriods may make her jumpy and piddle more often.

No snacks and make sure she is drinking fluids. If you have to, place water in a syringe and gently squeeze down her throat.

Did your vet keep her for the day and place her on IV to replace fluids and minerals? Warmly, Deborah
