What would worry me is that no matter how much training a dog has, each breed has certain instincts that are bred into them. I have had poodles a breed that was originally bred to be hunting dogs, they loved water and retrieved anything you could throw for hours. My yorkie who is only a year old and the only thing she knows is being pampered and wearing bows and dresses, went crazy trying to climb the tree after a squirrel last week like a terriers were originally bred to do. Her hunt for a rodent seemed so natural, I certainly never trained her to do that. While she chasing the squirrel my Chihuahua never bothered to look the squirrels direction. If a pit is bred to fight could it possibly turn on a smaller child or dog not out of meanness but instinct.
