I have a number of things I let my puppies chew on, first off I buy them plenty of stuffed animals and squeakers. As for hard chews, nylabones will work but I have found my puppies don't like them a ton. Any of the really hard rubber chews work well.

I also let them have rawhide twists, only when I am around though. I will not let them have them when I am gone but they LOVE them and it will keep them busy and chewing for hours. My one pup is 7 months old and the rawhides helped him lose many of his baby teeth.

Last, and most importantly, I have been told by my local trainer that the best thing and safest to leave with your puppy is a kong. I personally will fill mine with the kong stuffin, treats, kong ziggy's, froken peanut butter and more. They are safe to leave them with and are great for teething.

Oh yeah, I have used a thing called a chilly bone, basically a bone shaped sponge with canvas over it, soak it in water and freeze it and it gets hard and cold. I have since just moved to giving them ice cubes when I am in the freezer.
