My oldest girl has floppy ears. If you have tried everything like taping and clipping, then there is no hope, it's probably genetic. I tried so many different ways to keep my Penny's ears up, but with no luck. Her ears are way too big and heavy to stay up. Did you look at his parents? Did they have floppy ears? The only problem with floppy ear is that they can get infections. Floppy ears gets more dirty than erect ears.
