Your baby may definitely be afraid of the outside. My Sunshine is a tiny little girl and at 3 1/2 years old, she is very afraid outside. She is fine in her own backyard, but if I take her out front or when we take her in the car, she is afraid. I mean, she is fine while in the car, but outside of the car, she doesn't want to be anywhere but in my arms. The noise of the cars scare her and I think everything looks huge to her. When we go on a trip, she will not go potty at rest stops, or even at the hotels grassy areas. We have tried parks, etc. She just panics when she gets put down. Thank God for potty pads when we go on trips. But there is light atthe end of the tunnel. Even though she is afraid, she will walk on the leash now. But it took a long time before she would do that and she still doesn't like it. She walks only because she wants to stay right by me.. (hoping to get picked up) Just be patient. Your baby may just be afraid of the BIG BIG world outside. After he gets used to having the leash on inside, try taking him outside in a place he is comfortable with, then gradually try bringing him out front where there is an even bigger world for him to explore.
