Wow, it looks like there is still quite a bit of debate about this. I am so glad that I have this forum to learn from.
Basically, Gizmo was caught between these two views. I will keep him at home, away from other animals (inside) and keep him as healthy as I can. That's not a problem, he's a really tough little guy and doing VERY well. (I think he put on another pound this week.)
I will wait four weeks for the next distemper combo shot and schedule the rabies for a week after that.
Next time I get a puppy or hear of someone getting a puppy I will warn them to research the current views on shots.
Parvo is a frightening disease.
