Rescuing a puppy from a pet store is still supporting puppy mills. Pet Stores don't care why you buy the dog - they just care about making money, and by buying the puppy you'd be doing just that. I don't like to go into the pet store here because I feel so sorry for those puppies too. I know they are just innocent puppies, but no matter why you buy one, it's just going to help continue this cycle. So I will never buy one from a petstore - no matter how bad I feel for the puppy. It's just going to cause the parents to be continuously bred for profit. I wish there was some way to stop it.

Purchasing from backyard breeders, pet shops, and puppymills perpetuates the suffering of other dogs.
Educate yourself and buy from reputable breeders or rescue.
